DMLL Scholarship Application (Non-Study Abroad)

This scholarship application is for DMLL majors and minors to be considered for DMLL scholarship awards. Please fill out the application below which includes two essay responses. If you have any questions, please email us at modlang2@unl.edu. There will be a separate application for students who plan to study abroad and would like to be considered for study abroad awarding. 

Application deadlines:

To be considered for Fall awarding - March 1

To be considered for Spring awarding - October 1

Are you a heritage speaker or do you have relevant linguistic backgrounds? Required
Log into your MyRed, click on "academics", click "unofficial transcript", and enter the number at the very bottom that says "AHRS"

A first-generation student is a college student who grew up in a home where both parents did not attend a four year college, where one parent has an AA only, or where one or both parents attempted some college but did not finish it. If your parents went to community college ONLY, or a technical school, or to a NON four year school in another country, you are still a first-gen. If your parent did go to college but they passed away and you lived without them for more than half of your life, then you are a first-gen. If you were raised by someone who did graduate from a 4 year college, then you are not a first-gen.
Some of our scholarships have age-specific requirements
One of our scholarships requires US Citizenship which is why we ask this question. If you prefer not to answer, select 'prefer not to answer' and you will still be considered for other awards.
