Alejandro Barrientos Zamora (Heredia, Costa Rica) is an MA student, and graduate teaching assistant in the French section of the Modern Languages and Literatures Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). He graduated with a bachelor’s degree of arts in French as a foreign language at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA), Heredia, Costa Rica. Before coming to the UNL, he was pursuing a master’s degree of arts in Applied Linguistics to the teaching of French as a foreign language, and a bachelor’s degree of arts in English as a foreign language at UNA.

His academic and professional background include French speaking countries such as France, and Canada. He participated in the Language Assistants program in France as a Spanish assistant, in which he worked at two middle schools in the city of Tours in the Centre-Val de Loire Region. Moreover, he attended the 7th edition of the “Université d’été sur la Francophonie des Amériques” hosted by the “Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques” (CFA) at the Simon Fraser University (SFU), British Columbia, Canada, where he widened his knowledge about the French speaking espaces within the Americas. He also collaborated with the French section’s majors and graduate studies quality accreditation committee as a student assistant at the UNA, as well as being a tutor for students struggling with 4th year courses of the French undergraduate programs.
