Daniel Lino Plata (Cáceres, Spain) is a PhD student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) in the Spanish section of the Modern Languages and Literatures Department. He also holds a Women's and Gender Studies graduate certificate. His research deals with cultural, literary, and popular representations of queer and LGBTIQ+ subjectivities in contemporary Spain, focusing on masculinity studies, feminist theories, normativity, countercultural movements, and narratives of resistance and assimilation. He is also a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching at both the Modern Languages and Women's and Gender Studies departments, and collaborates with the Nebraska Translator and Interpreter Corps (NETIC). His article "Hombres gays y homoafecto: Masculinidades gays alternativas en Hombres de verdad (2020), de Alberto Marcos", co-authored with Dr. Iker González-Allende, was recently published.
