On Saturday a UCARE research team set off on a road trip for their project "Common Threads, Common Stories, Common Dreams: Documenting Nebraska stories of immigrant success". The research team includes Baraeera Iqbal, a Biology major from Papillion, NE; Briseyda Ceballos Cornejo, a Spanish and Child, Youth & Family Studies major from Grand Island, NE and Lindsey LaBrie, a German & Fisheries & Wildlife major from Hastings, NE and faculty advisors, Profs. Christina Brantner, Abla Hasan and Isabel Velázquez. The group visited Grand Island, Kearney, Lexington and Eustis, where students interviewed community members about the history of Arabic, German and Spanish speaking communities in the state.
